Tuesday Worship Services
Join us for intercessory prayers on Tuesdays at 6. We lift prayers for our church and its leaders, for our community, for the special needs that have been identified, and for whatever else God puts upon our hearts. At 7 p.m. we enjoy a special times of experiencing God’s presence through quiet, acoustic music, time for quiet prayer, and a message from Pastor Deborah. Child Care will be provided for young children.
A Passionate Life
New class starts Sunday, May 6th at 6:30 p.m. The class is designed to transform the life of every believer through biblical principles that can help each of us gain a greater understanding of what God intends to do in our personal lives, in our church and in the world.
Rethinking Church!
This is an event encouraging United Methodists to change the world, one person at a time. We’re offering a barbeque at the Justa Center on May 26, and will be taking donations of toilet paper, 8 oz Styrofoam cups, and disposable razors. Help our confirmation class out by bringing donations for their “Homeless Care Bags”

Prayer Vigil For Pentecost May 24-27
These are always times of great blessing for those who participate. There is something special about coming into a space where intense prayer has been offered over a period of time. Join us Sunday morning, May 27, when we remember that day that the Spirit of God was poured out upon Jesus’ followers to give birth to the church. We will have very special worship and music that morning.

Justa Center Ministry
Since 2008, volunteers from Spirit of Hope have participated in an amazing ministry to homeless senior adults at the Justa Center, located in downtown Phoenix. On the third Saturday of each month, volunteers from Spirit of Hope provide foot comfort and conversation to men and women at the Justa Center. Often described as “footwashing” (which is, in fact, sort of Biblical), volunteers provide warm water in sanitized foot baths and clean towels and a new pair of socks when the foot bath is completed.
Donations of powdered creamer, sugar, twin beds, and deodorant are currently needed and donations of diabetic socks are always needed. If you can donate any of these items, please bring them to Spirit of Hope and they will be delivered to Justa Center.
Food Collection Sunday!
The first Sunday of each month is Food Collection Sunday. Plan to bring food items to church services on the first Sunday of each month. These can include any non-perishable food item but may also (on the first Sunday ONLY) include fresh picked fruit (oranges, grape-fruits, lemons, etc) and fresh vegetables that do not need refrigeration.Current Food Bank needs: peanut butter, crackers, soup, tuna, cereal, canned beans, spaghetti, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, macaroni & cheese, and canned vegetables. These foodstuffs are provided to local food banks for their distribution to needy families and individuals.
2012 Youth Work Mission Trip
Eleven youth and adults from Spirit of Hope are busy – along with 23 youth and adults from other congregations – preparing for the 2012 Mission AZ Youth Work Mission trip to San Diego. The group, including participants from Spirit Song UMC, Mission Bell UMC, Trinity UMC, and Liberty UMC, will spend the week from July 8 – 14 working at Wesley UMC, other churches, senior apartments, and the Wesley Center at San Diego State University. This trip is “Youth-led,” meaning that youth are involved in all of the planning for the trip – publicity, worship, travel, recreation, food, and tools and safety. Please remember this group in prayer and continue to support their trip by buying “Stock” in the trip. Purposes of the trip are several – to provide service to individuals and churches in need of assistance, to involve youth in becoming leaders, to grow healthy and enjoyable new friendships, and to see participants grow in spirit and truth and in favor with God and man.
